BRIAN HENRY
APPOINTED EXECUTIVE CHEF OF

CROWNE PLAZA LONDON ST JAMES

15th January 2007 – Brian Henry, with over 20 years of experience in the food & beverage industry, has been appointed Executive Chef of 51 Buckingham Gate and Crowne Plaza London St James, with effect from 15 January 2007.

Brian's primary responsibility will be to oversee the kitchens of both 51 Buckingham Gate, owned and operated by Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces since 1982, and the adjacent Crowne Plaza London St James'. As an accomplished Head Chef, Brian is looking forward to building upon the excellent progress made by his predecessor in recent years.

The new Executive Chef has gained his experience in some of London's finest properties including the Royal Garden Hotel, the Park Lane Hotel and the London Hilton on Park Lane. Brian won his first Head Chef position at the Plaza on Hyde Park before spending a period of almost four years at the Grosvenor House Hotel in the role of Sous Chef Tournant, working with a brigade of approximately 50 chefs.

Brian will be responsible for managing all the kitchen operations, including the hotel's private dining, the library and all suites and apartments. He will also oversee Bistro 51, a traditional French & British dining experience, using only the freshest of ingredients.

Mr. Ian Hurst, General Manager, commented, "I am delighted to welcome Brian Henry to the London team. I know that myself and the F&B management staff look forward to continuing to deliver a high level of service and delicious cuisine, whilst increasing business levels and profitability.''

Combining all the facilities and convenience of a luxury hotel with the space and exclusivity of a private home, 51 Buckingham Gate consists of three individually designed buildings: Kings, Falconers and Minsters. The buildings have been beautifully restored and now offer 86 elegant suites and apartments each with their own separate kitchen and living area. Located in St. James's and just minutes from Buckingham Palace, shops and theatres of the West End, the townhouse hotel is an ideal base for a long weekend visit to London.
